At this year’s TUM Entrepreneurship Day, the winners of the 2025 CangeMaker Award were officially announced. The award honors student-led projects that address pressing societal challenges with innovative and scalable solutions.
Organized by the TUM School of Management and proudly supported by TUM Management Alumni e.V. and Philip Morris International, the Social Impact Award showcases the commitment of our academic community to social responsibility and entrepreneurial thinking.
From a pool of impressive submissions, the jury selected three outstanding initiatives:
1st place: nuno-labs
Founded by David Dietz, Naomi Jaguttis and Benjamin Obermeier
Each year, Germany loses vast amounts of renewable energy due to grid congestion – in 2023 alone, enough to power every household in Berlin. nuno-labs is tackling this issue with plug-and-play All Sky Imagers and AI-powered ultra-local solar feed-in forecasts, helping to ensure that clean energy doesn’t go to waste.
2nd Place: Shabrang Films by Afnaan Nissar Mir
As a Kashmiri filmmaker and Master in Management student, Afnaan tells powerful, underrepresented stories from his homeland. His short films confront topics like trauma, addiction, and cultural stereotyping, creating space for reflection, dialogue, and healing.
3rd place: Because We Care
Led by a ten-member team including Rudi Zagst, Timo Herterich, Lukas Schmidt, Jan Heimsath, Ole Hennig, Leon Hary, Leon Ilg, Ludwig Gröber, Laura Fogti, and Duc-Loc Nguyen, this initiative brings financial literacy workshops to Bavarian schools while supporting underprivileged children in Ecuador. The impact so far: over 600 students reached and more than €6,500 donated – with more to come.
These three inspiring projects demonstrate how academic knowledge, creativity, and purpose can drive real-world impact. We warmly congratulate all awardees and are proud to support such forward-thinking ChangeMakers as part of the TUM Management Alumni community!
